This weeks topic is evaluation. We started the week with a seminar where we discussed chapter 13 and 15 from the course litterature Interaction Design and used the new knowledge to create a evaluation strategy for our projects prototype.
Since it’s a limited amount of resources (time) in this project, we’ve chosen to focus our evaluation using the DECIDE framework to get as much response and feedback from our expert, using our prototype, as possible. If we had unlimited amount of resources we’d probably choose an evaluation method which includes tourists or persons more like our target group.
During the past week we’ve also taken the next step in our prototype process by creating a clickable version of our design using POP-app. Since we got help during the lectures from Kristina and Eva, we knew from the beginning how to use it, which made the creating process very easy. It’s on a quite basic level but hopefully we will receive some good feedback from group 4 in tomorrow's exercise.
Tomorrow we’ll be evaluating a prototype made by group 2. I don’t know so much about their progress so it will be fun to see what they’ve been up too. We’ll be using the Nielsen’s 10 Usability Heuristics to evaluate their prototype. The Nilsen's heuristics is a good way to easy get a quick overview and to find problems in a design in an early stage. In this course, we've been told to use this evaluation method. In an other scenario, we might have chosen an other method/ used one more method. But since the time is limited, I think this first step in the evaluation will be fine.
